This is why I wrote that sytrus tutorial

Too bad I can't make synths nearly as awesome as that. Kickass in multiple ways, although I think the song's a tad TOO generic in that its sometimes difficult to pick out the actual melody and it all kind of blends together. Great work :D

Mrmilkcarton responds:

I looked at your tutorial but didn't exactly want to go through all of it because I like to learn through trail and error. What I did read though was really informative and should be praised for such a detailed tutorial.

I even admit it is pretty generic but the point was that you don't need no fancy VSTI that has presets already there for you when you have sytrus. It has the power to create quality sounds and people need to know that. The best way to get through to people is to make something they like and I myself would listen to.

To anyone reading this reply go check out Blackholes Sytrus tutorials they are amazing!

Thank you for the review and tutorials.

Wow

This is a nice, simple melody, which is amazingly effective in both production and execution. The song may have been a little quiet, but its a superb job regardless.

Thank you very much man.

Catchy idea

The drums could use some panning, and a bit more stereo in general would be good, plus a shorter intro, but otherwise its rather catchy. Nice work.

thanks for listening and reviewing! (I can't change the song, it's data is lost now)

Sweet

Awesome track, I wish I could hear the full version. A little more rhythmic variation might add a little bit to this song though.

The song fully is like 3 minutes, i MIGHT release it on newgrounds, but for now its a private use song :)
Glad you like it ^^
Thanks for the review!

Variation

Without way more variation in this song, it is flat out boring to listen to. A more attractive melody line would probably help too.

yay! first bad review

it is a bit long isnt it? it gets pretty at the end tho dont it?

must try harder.

Now this sounds cool

This sounds really cool considering it was just a reverse. I'm surprised the melody lines up so well.

5/5 - for awesomeness :D

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks. Some parts of this kind of sound the same as played forwards.

Impressive

I liked the melody in this loop a lot, however there are compression issues, and the loop lacks variation. While it is a loop, a loop should be entertaining to listen to for long periods of time, and this requires a lot of variation, perhaps even a seperate idea.

5/5 - Because everyone zero-bombs this genre :(

Jephz responds:

thanks i'll keep that in mind the next i make a loop

Ow...

I don't necessarily want to sound harsh... but this was not very good.

- No panning
- No transitions
- No variation in the bassline
- Bad instruments
- No mastering
- (almost) no compression
- Completely lacks any sort of melody.

Your criticism is always appreciated.

Thank you for the review!

Why the heck is this rated 1.11?

Obviously a professional track, with excellent sounds and mastering, although i think a little more panning would have been nice. An interesting chord progression that keeps you hooked, and overall I could definately see this in a game cutscene. There does, however, need to be a transition at around 1:59.

Repetative

This song has one awesome earworm, but thats all the song is - a glorified motif. A bit of stereo work on the snares might have been nice, and I think you accidentally made one of the string notes louder then the others. I think this song could go many, many places, and its got a real nice sound to it, but you never really do anything with the idea.

7/10
5/5 - because its score is way too low

K-Dm responds:

lol ya i was pretty cheap with that piano loop

but i dunno i think its good enough for a hip hop instrumental

i cant really think of anything else to do with it

but im always up for lettin other ppl remix my tracks
